After hurrying through her shower D.J. dragged a comb through her short hair in an attempt to yank straight the natural wave, gave up as she did every morning, and finished her toilette by brushing her teeth. Well-worn jeans and a faded sweatshirt combined with high-top red sneakers completed her ensemble. A glance at her watch told D.J. she'd get to the hospital by eight if she left now. |
